For most of its history, Tudor was seen as Rolex’s little brother. Today, Tudor may still be part of the same family, but the little brother has now grown into a full-fledged watchmaking powerhouse in itself.

Tudor originated as a sub-brand for Rolex, using most of the same parts but equipped with a cheaper bought-in movement. For most of its existence, it closely followed Rolex’s designs, producing Submariners , Day-Dates and Datejusts (called the Prince Date).

By the late 90s and early 2000s, Tudor had gained a reputation for being a “poor man’s Rolex”. However, this changed after the 2009 brand relaunch, where Tudor came out with distinctive new designs. After Rolex’s switch to ceramic bezels for its sports models, Tudor stuck with its guns and began offering a new modernised dive watches in the form of the Pelagos and Black Bay. These new watches, combined with the “warmer”, retro-inspired aesthetic retained by Tudor, meant that it developed a distinct identity from Rolex.

We are proud to present this highly rated Tudor Heritage Black Bay Harrods Edition for sale in mint condition.
A special collaborative piece between Tudor and the world-famous department store Harrods, this watch is one of a numbered series with the initial release selling out on the first day.
For this version of the infamous Tudor Black Bay, reference `79230G`, they have added small details to showcase the influence of both brands working together. Most noticeably, the ‘Harrods Green’ bezel, the green tipped sweeping hands seconds and the water resistance text coloured in green, with standard Black Bay models feature either blue, red or black bezels. The watch comes set in the classic 41mm stainless steel case with screw down crown allowing for a water resistance of 20atm (200m/660ft), as well as being fitted on a riveted stainless steel bracelet with matching fold over clasp with safety catch. Powered by Tudor`s in-house automatic calibre MT5602 chronometer movement and protected by a closed commemorative caseback embossed with the iconic Harrods logo. Some fans of the Rolex and Tudor brands have noted how cleverly it references the famous anniversary Rolex 16610LV `Kermit` Submariner, a great talking point for the watch community.
Originally purchased from Harrods in 2020 and is in very good condition. The watch comes supplied with the original inner and outer Tudor boxes, instruction manual, guarantee booklet, additional black fabric strap and international warranty card. This Tudor benefits from being covered under its manufacturer warranty until December 2025.
